YEADON sent holders Bowling Old Lane crashing out of the Priestley Shield at the first round stage after beating them by six wickets.

An unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 75 between Sam Johnson (38no) and Ryan Mooney (30no) enabled Yeadon to overhaul the Old Lane total of 137 with 5.4 overs to spare.

Despite the efforts of Muhammed Yasir (47) and Umar Zubair (33) Old Lane were unable to build a substantial score against some good bowling from Anthony Gilks (4-13) and Ryan Mooney (3-40).

An unbeaten 79 from Joe Hitch enabled Ossett to cruise to an eight-wicket win over Scholes.

Their success was set up by steady bowling from Luke Watson (3-19) and Khurman Akhtar (3-29) which enabled Ossett to bowl out their rivals for 113.
