KEIGHLEY have named two stalwarts as co-captains for the forthcoming season.

Shaun Minikin and Adam Horsfall will share the skipper's armband during the campaign. Both players have come through the club's junior set-up and will now lead their side in Yorkshire One.

Head coach Danny McGee said: "It is fantastic that we have two captains who are so woven into the fabric of Keighley Rugby Club.

"Their experience, leadership and passion for the club can only bring positives into the 2019-20 season."

Keighley finished last season in ninth place in Yorkshire One with nine wins from their 25 games, gaining 54 points.

The backroom staff which secured the club's status in Yorkshire One last season will remain the same for next year.

McGee retains his role, as he heads up forwards coach James Cunliffe, backs coach Johnny Harrison and strength and conditioning coach Tom Lowther.

McGee says he is looking to build on the work of last season, continuing to invest in the development of players creating an environment of success. He took over from Dave Duxbury in December last year who left by mutual consent.

Meanwhile, Keighley got their pre-season training under way on June 11 and it is subsequently being held every Tuesday and Thursday night at the club between 7pm and 8.30pm. Players are urged to bring their own boots, trainers and water bottle to each session.

The club is looking for its members to spare some time this weekend after being been awarded a grant to improve our club.

Members to spare some time between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, June 23 to carry out some work to improve the decorations in the club's changing room area, or assist in improving its garden areas.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the club has had to cancel the planned improvement works on Saturday, June 22.

Keighley RU's annual general meeting will be held at the club on Thursday, July 18, from 8pm.
