A EXCELLENT knock of 75 by batsman Freddie Pearson was not enough as Steeton were beaten by New Rover in Aire-Wharfe League action on Saturday.
Imran Patel (118no) and captain Michael Richmond (82) had a magnificent second-wicket stand of 180 to lead New Rover (291-3) to a 106-run victory at Steeton (185 all out).
Paul Hardwick (3-72) took the only three wickets for Division Two side Steeton, and their reply, which came up short, was led by Pearson's knock of 75.
In Division Three, Bolton Villas (129-6) beat bottom side Harden (128 all out) by four wickets.
Andy Wear (33) top-scored for Harden, as Louis Brown took 5-44.
Ashan Tanveer's 34no guided Bolton Villas past their target.
