THE top two in the Mewies Solicitors Craven & District League Division One, Crossflatts and Haworth Road, both won comfortably. The gap remains two points between the two.

The former travelled to Ingrow and restricted Ingrow to 101-9 with Will Rankin (42) and Jason Roberts (23) top scoring as Wasim Hussain took 4-31. Harris Hussain (43no) led Crossflatts to the spoils by eight wickets.

Haworth Road entertained Barrowford and, going first, amassed 255-7 in their overs with Shahid Saleem (81) Dil Nawaz (63) and Zahir Abbas (45no) in the runs as Nigel Jones took 3-54. Barrowford were dismissed for 108 with only Aziz Iqbal (45) and Shuja Rashid (38) offering resistance as Tom Kaznowski finished with 4-15.

Haworth move into third spot, on run rate, after they demolished Denholme by nine wickets at West Lane.

Denholme made 164-9 with Ben Burkill scoring 80 as Damian Rowell (3-26), Jamie Rowell (3-41) and Steve Bell (3-46) shared the wickets.

Haworth stormed home in the 37th over, despite a 20-minute rain stoppage when the covers were on, with Dan Trowers (80no) and Jamie Rowell (61no) putting on a match-winning partnership of 150 for the second wicket.

Bingley Congs slip into fourth spot after losing by four wickets at lowly Embsay.

Congs made 162 with Johandre Barnard (70) in the runs again together with Ben Hemsley (33) as Ben Davy claimed 5-15 which included the hat-trick. Davy then top scored with 31no and Morgan Davies made 30 as Embsay reaped three valuable points.

The side just below Embsay, Foulridge, also garnered three points as they beat Oakworth by 48 runs at Cure Hill.

Foulridge went first and posted a testing 190 with Chris Brooker-Carey (57no), Abrar Sarwar (44) and Imran Qamar (31) in the runs as Harry Hollingsworth (5-40) and Tom Fothergill (3-43) were the best bowlers.

Oakworth could only manage 142 in reply with u16 Bradley Powell top scoring with 54 as Brooker-Carey (3-17) Sarwar (4-52) and Shahbaz Munir (3-25) shared the wickets.

Bottom side Sutton had to settle for a point when their game was abandoned due to weather.

Suton went first and were restricted to 104 with No 10 Justin Holdsworth (25no) top scoring as Josh Gill took 4-16.

Visitors Cowling were in a tricky position at 56-4 when play stopped. Azeem Hussain made 22 and Richard Walker took 3-28.

Meanwhile, in Division Two, Wilsden and Hepworth & Idle are level on points at the top with the former ahead on run rate.

Wilsden went to Grange Road and demolished Eldwick & Gilstead for 64 with Jacob Roach (25) the only player in double figures. Chris Longley (3-8) and Sam Mitchell (3-13) were the main wicket takers. Wilsden romped home by eight wickets.

Hepworth & Idle entertained Airedale and had them back in the hut for 125 as Waseem Qureshi made 51 and Jonathan Thompson took 3-3. In reply, Jamie Topham (37), Thompson (34) and James Bentley (32no) took Hepworth to the points by six wickets.

Barrowford II were 24 runs too good for visitors Haworth Road II.

Barrowford made 141 as Rehan Ahmed (5-25) and Safraz Mahmood (3-34) were the best bowlers. In the reply Waj Mahmood (47) top scored as Vic Sunil took 4-22.

Bradford & Bingley III made 151-9 at Wagon Lane with Shahbaz Ahmed (37) and Irfan Ul Haqq (37no) were the main run-getters as Ahsan Rizwan took 3-39.

Visitors Long Lee were never in the hunt as they slumped to 107 all out. Ahmed (6-25) and Ayaz Butt (4-40) sharing the wickets.

John Beckwith (50) and Lee Barrett (45) put in 84 for Gargrave’s first wicket and Joe Wood made 46 as they totalled 242 at Cononley. The homeside had reached 32-4 off 12 overs when play was curtailed.

Sandy Lane conceded their game to Crossflatts II.
