MID-TABLE Steeton survived a major scare at struggling Ben Rhydding in Division Two of the Aire-Wharfe League. The hosts' bowlers were all among the wickets as the visitors crumbled to 129 all out.
William Luxton top scored with 44, but a poor performance overall left them vulnerable at the change of innings.
But extras top scored with 13 when it came to Ben Rhydding's turn at the crease, as they were dismissed for a paltry 53. Stephen Pearson destroyed the home side's batting, with remarkable figures of 7-19.
Division Three's basement side Harden suffered a heartbreaking 10-run defeat to St Chad's Broomfield, which all but confirmed their relegation.
St Chad's opener Ewan Brannan carried his bat for a magnificent 113 n.o. but he got virtually no support, as his side were dismissed for 201. Andy Wear was the star for Harden, taking 5-53.
Wear took that form into his batting, as he opened the innings with 66, but when he was the ninth wicket to fall on 174, the game looked over.
Jonathan Hollowood kept swinging though, scoring 27, but his dismissal saw Harden finish on 191 all out.
