WEST Bowling ARLFC are welcoming people along to the Lee Hunter memorial event on Saturday, August 31 at Emsley Rec, which is just off Manchester Road, from 12.45pm.

Lee was a much loved player at West Bowling, who sadly lost his life last year.

In memory of Lee’s life, his friends and former team mates are holding a charity rugby league game ahead of Bowling's National Conference League Division Two derby, and title celebrations, against Bradford Dudley Hill at 2:30pm.

The Over 40s v Under 40s curtain raiser will help raise money for the British Heart Foundation, a charity close to Lee’s family.

Alongside the game, there will be a raffle and an auction of rugby league shirts to help raise money for the charity.

Throughout the game, there will be a barbecue, beverage tents and face painting. After the game, the players will be gathering at Q Gardens pub in Odsal for the raffle and auction.

The fundraising will continue later at the newly reopened Barley Moor on Halifax Road. Anyone who would like any more information can contact the club.
