GRASSINGTON United moved to the top of the Craven League with with a 7-0 whitewashing of Skipton Town in a Premier Division game on Saturday.

Grassington, fresh off last week's big victory in the West Riding County Challenge Cup, had three players score a brace against Skipton.

Reece Fowler, Luke Howson and Daniel Hunt all scored two goals each and Jamie Poulter was also on the scoresheet for United.

Two Premier Division sides got wins against lower league opposition to advance to the second round of the Northern Plant Hire Trophy.

Trawden Celtic Juniors beat Division One team Broomhill 4-2, thanks to goals by Jake Bancroft, Saun Garvey, Paul Cruz and Thomas Windells. Tyler Brigg scored one of Broomhill's goals.

Premier Division side FC Sporting Keighley produced a great display to beat Division Two side Salts 3rds 5-0.

FC Sporting Keighley host Skipton Town and Trawden Celtic Juniors travel to Addingham in round two on Saturday, October 26.

In a Division One league game, goals by Chris Moon and James Morgan saw Grassington United Reserves beat Silsden Whitestar Reserves 2-0.

A hat-trick by Matthew Blackwell saw Barnoldswick Barons advance to the quarter-finals of the Division Two Cup with a 5-0 win at Skipton Town Reserves. Luke Scothern and Micky Wilkinson also scored a goal each for the Barons.

In a Division Two league game, a Daniel Holden hat-trick helped Barlick Wanderers secure a 3-3 draw against Bradley at Ings Playing Fields.

Bradley, who led 2-1 at half-time, got a brace from Calum Wootton and one goal from Samuel Boothman.

In Division Three, Seth Wiseman bagged a brace to lead Cowling Reserves to a 5-0 victory against FC Sporting Keighley Reserves.

Craig Freeman and Kyle Willis were also on the scoresheet for Cowling Reserves, who notched their first win of the season.
