THE relatively unknown Mark Holden, of Burnley, was the surprise, but worthy, winner of the Craven BC 32+ event which rounded off the local season for 2019.

He played quite well without being noticed for most of the day and achieved a rare record because in his last three games he defeated the three Teale brothers from Guiseley, Danny, James and Luke in the final with a 21-20 scoreline.

Losing in the semis were James Teale and Richard Hargreaves, while also in the money were Tony Gallagher, Jon Edmondson, Andy Raymond and of course, Danny Teale.

Once again it was Mick Demain who successfully organised the games supported by club members.

The Skipton Floodlit League has also come to a conclusion with comfortable victories in Division One by Colne Cricket A and by Colne Legion A in Division Two with top three sides in the leagues receiving prize money.

That’s about it for another controversial season with poor weather most of the time and no doubt there will be more to come in 2020.
