KEIGHLEY Cricket Club have made their first signing of the close season by snapping up Hasnehn “Haz” Haider from Harden.

Haider learnt his trade in the Craven League, firstly at Long Lee and then Embsay, while studying at Ermysted’s Grammar School in Skipton.

He then decided to make the move to Harden in the Aire Wharfe League, but his time there is now over.

The 30-year-old top order batsman will add plenty of experience to the Keighley senior ranks and has said he is looking for a new challenge at Lawkholme Lane by playing in the Bradford Premier League.

Haider already knows several of the current Keighley squad and is looking forward to pre-season training, which starts in February.

After a reasonably quiet close season so far, Haider is the first of potentially half a dozen new signings that Keighley have said they are hoping to announce over the next month.
