THE Bradford Premier League are keeping close tabs on the potential effect of the Coronavirus on their forthcoming season.

The league have issued a statement in response to a number of queries from club officials.

It reads: "We are closely monitoring the situation regarding the current Coronavirus outbreak in the UK.

"We are taking advice direct from ECB and Sport England, who are in regular dialogue with the government.

"It is too early to say what effect the outbreak will have on the forthcoming season.

"Clubs can be assured that the league management board will be discussing this at their meeting on March 16 (tonight).

"The welfare of players, umpires, club officials and all the Bradford Premier League community will always come first.

"In addition, please remember that the most recent advice is that if a person feels unwell, with symptoms such as a new and continuous cough or fever, they should self-isolate at home for seven days.

"The best way of preventing transmission of the virus is to wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

"We will continue to update you with more information as the situation develops."
