STEETON'S relegation battle in the North West Counties League First Division North will have to wait, after the league announced that it was suspending all fixtures until further notice with immediate effect.
Steeton last played on March 6, picking up a fine 3-2 win at high-flying Golcar United to move off the bottom, and one point from safety.
They had already sat out their last two scheduled matches, at home to Daisy Hill last Wednesday due to a waterlogged pitch at Cougar Park and on Saturday at Lower Breck because of coronavirus concerns.
Those concerns have now become even more widespread, and with the Government having urged for non essential contact to be avoided from today, many leagues, including the NWCFL, have announced a suspension.
The suspension also affects Barnoldswick Town, who are in the NWCFL Premier Division
Matches in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League, which includes Silsden, were suspended from last Friday.
