LIVERSEDGE really put poor Horsforth St Margaret's to the sword last night, winning their pre-season clash 8-0.

Oliver Fearon and Alfie Raw put them 2-0 up before former Bradford (Park Avenue) pair Paul Walker and Nicky Boshell made it 4-0 by half-time.

Sedge showed no mercy after the break. Joe Gaughan put them 5-0 up after 76 minutes, before Carl Stewart added two goals in five minutes. Boshell completed the scoring with his second in the final minute.

Thackley looked as if they might do something similar, after Jack Normanton and Ben Grech-Brooksbank put them 2-0 up inside 13 minutes at home to Emley AFC, the latter netting a screamer.

But the visitors quickly hit back to make it 2-1, before scoring an equaliser with three minutes of the match left.

Silsden found themselves 1-0 down early on against Clitheroe, but hit back after 25 minutes through a Chris Wademan penalty.

But in a hard-fought contest, the Cobbydalers conceded with 13 minutes to go to lose 2-1.

Brighouse Town's clash with Maltby Main was postponed.
