COUGAR’S new boy Charlie Graham has collected the club’s Player of the Month award for March, after putting in consecutive Man of the Match performances.

The speedy back rower joined Cougars in January, following his release from Super League side, Hull FC.

Graham has impressed so far at the WestYorkshire based side, collecting Man of the Match awards, against Bradford Bulls and London Broncos.

The Player of the Month award comes only five days after Graham put pen to paper on a new contract, tying him down until 2022.

After an original trial period in December, Graham signed a year’s contact, however performances against Broncos and Bulls caught the of head coach Rhys Lovegrove, particularly a sensational 60-yard try against the latter.

Graham’s form subsequently pushed Lovegrove and chairman, Mick O’’Neill into extending his contract to 2022.

Speaking to the T&A in January, upon Graham’s arrival, Lovegrove said:”Playing at Hull FC for the last three years has aided his development as a player in the sport of rugby league.

“Not only is he young, he is strong, athletic, but most importantly, he is hungry and wants to improve himself.

“Charlie is a player that will add quality to the side on the field, and the club off it too.”
