HOME-shopping giant Damart is backing a village football club.

The company is sponsoring polo shirts for Steeton AFC.

Support is also being given to Bingley Congs Cricket Club and Brighouse Sports Bowls Tournament as part of the sponsorship package, totalling nearly £3,000.

Damart’s warehousing facility is at Steeton.

The company’s online merchandise manager, Claire Brown, said: “As well as supporting our charity partners, we feel it is really important to be able to give something back to the local clubs that are making a difference in our communities.

“We are thrilled to show our continued support for the Brighouse Sports Bowls Tournament – which we have sponsored for four years now – as well as honour sponsorships for Bingley Congs Cricket Club and Steeton AFC.”

The Bingley Congs sponsorship will see a board promoting the club displayed for a year in Damart's head office grounds.
