RAPID Keighley-born full-back Ellie Kildunne has won the Allianz Premier 15s Try of the Season award after a sensational effort for Wasps against Harlequins.

The Premier 15s is the elite women's rugby union competition in England, and is one of the few leagues that was played in 2020/21, with the sport largely staying on hiatus from competitive action since the coronavirus pandemic arrived last March.

The award-winning try saw Kildunne receive the ball on the right wing well inside her own half, before scorching up the touchline, leaving opposition players trailing in her wake.

She then performed a neat jink to the left to cut inside one would-be tackler, before beating her opposing full back for pace.

There was no stopping Kildunne after that, as she breezed towards the line and touched down underneath the sticks.

She beat Bristol Bears star Simi Pam in the final public vote on Twitter, 56 per cent to 44 per cent.

It has been a solid season in union for Kildunne.

She helped England to win the Six Nations title in April, and was integral part of the Wasps side that finished third in the league, before losing their semi-final to Harlequins.

Quins went on to win the competition, beating Saracens 25-17 in the final.
