CROSSHILLS FIRST put their Craven League Premier Division struggles behind them with an emphatic win at Barnoldswick Wanderers First in the Northern Plant Hire Trophy on Saturday.
Doubles from Brad McDonnell and Sam Woodward, alongside goals from Liam Daniels and Tom Storrie, helped the visitors to a deserved 6-2 victory against their Division Two opponents.
Rolls Reserves were in similarly electric form in the competition, with Harrison Prenton’s brace seeing them to a 5-1 win at home to Chatburn First.
Elsewhere, Baildon Trinity Athletic First found themselves on the right side of a seven-goal thriller against Hellifield Sports, whilst Trawden Celtic Juniors First edged out Ingleton First 3-2.
The match between Addingham First and Skipton Town First was postponed.
In the only game in the Craven League Premier Division, Cameron Knowles, Chris Lumsden, and James Robinson were on the scoresheet as Cononley Sports Club First picked up their first point of the season in an entertaining 4-4 draw at home to AFC Barnoldswick First.
Barnoldswick Barons moved up to second place in the Division One table after a comprehensive 5-0 victory at fellow high-fliers Grindleton First.
The hosts were undone in a devastating 10-minute spell that saw Barnoldswick find the back of the net three times before the interval, with Matthew Blackwell, Alex Collett, Dan Hughes and Ben Speak helping the visitors complete the rout midway through the second half.
The only other fixture in the Division saw Skipton Town Reserves record their second win of the season after surviving a late scare to beat last-placed Cowling Reserves 2-1.
A Pedro Quintas double ensured Division Three leaders Settle United 3rds maintained their 100% record with a 4-3 victory against Otley Town 4ths, whilst a Henry Day hat-trick helped Carleton Sports also put four past Cononley Sports Club 2nds.
Weston Lane Juniors also claimed the three points with a 4-1 win at struggling iPlay 2nds, with Tom Coe, Alex Harding, and Ryan Henry seeing them race to a three-goal lead inside 25 minutes before Henry Brewis added a fourth with five minutes remaining.
