IT is judgement day for Keighley potting sensation Chris Melling this weekend, as he tackles the final event of the Ultimate Pool Pro Series this year.
Two-time world champion Melling (pictured) has come agonisingly close to winning one of them so far this season, losing 7-5 in the final in event one of the series back in August.
He was beaten in that showpiece thriller by young Northern Irishman Declan Brennan, his biggest title to date.
Melling also made the final in event three in September, but he was swept aside 7-1 by a triumphant Shane Thompson, who won event four just a day later as well to complete a stunning double.
The Keighley man has achieved success on the pool circuit already this season though, with his superb Vinny Champions League Pool final win over six-time world championship Mick Hill seeing him secure a cool £10,000.
Melling’s fellow Keighley pool star Arfan Dad will not be in action in the Ultimate Pool Pro Series this weekend.
That is because he is part of the International Pool Association (IPA), though he will move over to the Ultimate Pool professional circuit for 2022.
He has had success on the table too this season, winning a World Rules Pool Tour title in October.
