TWO of the Bradford District's non-league sides have been involved in a big transfer.

Mo Qasim is the joint second top-scorer in the NCEL Premier Division with 12 goals, and his strike partnership with Jack Normanton, who also has 12, has been key to Silsden being able to reach mid-table.

But he has now departed, having made the move to Albion Sports, which has come as a slight surprise, given that Albion are currently third-bottom of the same division.

But Albion have not been afraid to bring in players from their rivals since new manager Riz Mohammed arrived, with Ryan Basi and Omar Habeeb joining from Thackley last month.

Amir Berchil is another new man who has come in for Albion. He joined the Bradford club on loan from Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday.

There is one recent departure from Albion though, with Michael Tufenkian leaving to join Garforth Town.

Meanwhile, not only have Silsden lost Qasim, but their talented young goalkeeper Hagie Damba has also departed.

Damba was struggling to displace Sammy Lee in the Cobbydalers' net, so he made the move to Hemsworth Miners Welfare on Saturday.

However, it was just Silsden's luck that Lee had to be taken off with an injury in their win on Saturday over Bottesford Town, so they will be hoping he is fit to return for this weekend's clash with Barton Town, with former Guiseley man Damba no longer an option for them.

As for Basi and Habeeb's old club Thackley, they have just snapped up Thomas Rose from Knaresborough Town.
