KEIGHLEY Cougars have made a big announcement ahead of the new season, with half-back Jack Miller taking over as club captain.
Kyle Kesik has had the role for the last two seasons, but head coach Rhys Lovegrove obviously felt Miller's contributions in 2021 were too good to ignore.
He was comfortably the top points scorer in League 1, and is a popular figure among his team-mates.
It is a bold move from Lovegrove, as Miller is part of a team containing players with vast experience like Kesik, Scott Murrell, Jake Webster and Brenden Santi.
Miller's first official game as skipper is in less than a fortnight, as Cougars visit Oldham for their opening League 1 game on March 27.
