SOME of Keighley Albion's youngsters are gearing up for a truly exciting weekend in London, as they get the chance to face a top side from the capital.

Their Under-10s, 11s and 12s are off to Brixton tomorrow (March 25) in two coaches, with over 140 people associated with the Keighley club going down, including players, parents and grandparents.

Albion arrive at their team hotel tomorrow afternoon, before playing their tour games on Saturday against Brixton Bulls.

On Saturday evening, a lot of the players are going to Wembley to watch England v Switzerland in an international football friendly, before going back up to Keighley on the Sunday.

Albion have had a one off kit produced for this game, personalised for each child playing, with their surname on the rear of the shirt.

The club admitted this could not have been done without their main kit sponsor, Keiton Construction and RDJ Keiton.

Albion held a shirt presentation evening at the Royal Oak in Keighley on March 11, where each player from all the age groups was presented with their shirt.

The club's traditional colours have changed on the kit for this game, with Albion having gone with blue and white as a Yorkshire theme, with the Yorkshire Rose embossed in the white area.

Albion's chairman Richard Dibbin enthused: "It's going to be a fantastic trip, where we hope these kids have memories from it for a lifetime.

"As the club chairman, I am so very proud that we, as an amateur club, can pull it off and be in a position to arrange a trip to London for a full weekend and throw some rugby in there for these children.

"All this could not have been done without a mention for some special people, Dean Condren, Andrew Stokes, Sharon Eels, Lisa Artis, and of course Paddy and Lisa Gaskin at the Royal Oak, so a huge thank you to them from Keighley Albion.

"We are passionate about the game of rugby league and trips like this go a long way to spreading the game, as well as developing it in the south of England.

"As a result of this, we reached out to the pros of the game and we have received good luck video messages from Mason Lino, Willie Isa, Wayne Godwin, Luke Burgess and Keith Mason, which has also been a fantastic bonus for the trip and the club."
