IT WAS a good Saturday afternoon for Keighley in Yorkshire Two, even though they did not end up playing.
On the penultimate weekend of the season, Keighley's scheduled opponents Leeds Corinthians were unable to raise a team.
That meant leaders Keighley were gifted the points to move them on to 106 ahead of their game at Bradford District rivals Baildon on the final day on April 23.
While the Keighley versus Leeds Corinthians game was literally a non-event, there was plenty of drama in the clash between second and third.
Wetherby could have edged ahead of Keighley going into their final day clash at home to Wensleydale.
But they crashed to defeat away to fellow high-fliers Hullensians, with the final score being 40-19 to the hosts.
That leaves Wetherby on 102 points, and Hullensians on 100.
The former are still in with a slim chance of the title, if Keighley slip up on the final day, while the latter can now steal second.
