INGROW had a day to forget in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One.

They were bowled out for 23 at Barrowford on what could best be termed a sporting wicket, with opener Wayne Exley top-scoring with nine.

Barrowford only used two bowlers, with Aqib Salfi taking 6-7 and Shuja Rashid 3-12, and then knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket in 4.1 overs.

Near the top of the table, Oakworth and Denholme are joint second on 58 points, two behind Bingley Congs, who have a maximum 60.

Newly-promoted Denholme were indebted to all-rounders Ben Burkill and Toby Priestley in their two-wicket victory in a low-scoring match at home to Wilsden.

Burkill took 4-14 and Priestley 3-43 in Wilsden’s 117, and then both scored 31 to help Denholme over the line, although they were 80-3 at one stage.

Oakworth were in a hurry at at Sutton, using just 20.3 overs to pass the home side’s 132.

Sutton looked on for a much bigger score via openers David Snowden (20) and Sam Solley (67, including 10 fours), with Craig Thornton also making 20 as they subsided from 88-1.

Jack Davison (3-24), Harry Hollingsworth (2-14) and Charlie Raby (2-37) caused the collapse, but Oakworth were 67-4 themselves before being seen home by Davison (20no) and skipper Rob Hollingsworth (45no, including five fours and two sixes) in an unbroken stand of 66.

Haworth took their match at Hepworth & Idle down to the wire before losing by four wickets with just two balls to spare.

Sent in at Westfield Lane, the Brontelanders made 129, which was largely down to David Robinson (52) and keeper Ben Bright (30), who put on 57 for the fifth wicket.

Captain and keeper Dave Hunt chipped in with 22 for the hosts, but Bingley had no answer to George Bell, who took 5-6, Edward Washington bagging 2-8.
