BRADFORD City’s under-18 side concluded this term’s activities with the West Riding Girls’ League Challenge Trophy Final at Weetwood Hall, playing their fifth game of the season against Nidd United.

The first half hour was fairly quiet as both teams tried to get a foothold in the game, but City were quietly confident after the previous week’s league title decider that ended up in a 5–1 victory.

However just after the half-hour mark, Nidd went ahead through Olivia Needham's stunning opening goal.

City soon realised that this wasn’t going to be an easy game but not long after, the prolific Maddy Jordan put away a superb equaliser.

The second half was much more exciting, for the neutral at least, with a goal from Nidd’s Connie Parkin.

This was again followed by another excellent equaliser from Jordan, then City went ahead through club player of the year, young Meg Woollias.

There were many chances for both teams as the game could still go either way with 20 minutes to go.

Isma Ahmed put City further ahead, then spectators’ player of the year Natalie Barry pulled one back, and finally Ahmed made it 5–3 to City as they hung on for the last 10 minutes for the double win.

The League Cup final was finally played last Sunday. The delayed quarter-final had seen Harrogate Railway come out 3–1 winners against a tough Ripon City, but they struggled against Ossett’s Development side in the semi-final.

An Ossett own-goal saw Railway ahead, but after Ossett scored four, the confidence was knocked out of Railway, who ended up losing 5–2.

The final, against Lower Hopton, was a one-sided affair. Ossett never really got out of their own half, and Hopton secured the cup by a 6–0 margin.

Queensbury Celtic wrapped up their season with a friendly against Kinsley.

A good run-out saw a 5–0 win, with a pair of braces from Shoanna Clark and Orla Durkin, plus one from Katie Waters.
