OAKWORTH, set a decent target by Gargrave, are hanging on to the coat-tails of leaders Bingley Congs in Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One.

Visitors Gargrave, 6-3 at one stage, posted 191-7, with Bradley Powell taking 4-45.

Stiffened by a second-wicket stand of 56 between Jake Keslinke (54) and Matty Lee (18), the hosts were later indebted to Jordan Powell (22) and Jack Davison (37) as they won by three wickets in the 34th over.

Haworth are nicely tucked in fourth place after a six-wicket victory at home to Wilsden, who made 106 after being sent in, with Ollie Bishop (3-24) and Jacob Stephens (5-25) doing the damage.

Keeper Pete Gower saw the hosts home with 50 not out, including an impressive 11 fours, adding 53 unbroken with Harry Reynoldson (17no) after Jamie Rowell had made 20.

Cowling are having an up and down season, but were on the up after a 27-run victory at Ingrow.

Naqi Hassan was Cowling’s match-winner, hitting 96 not out in their 174-6 and then taking 4-31 as Ingrow were dismissed for 147.

Darab Khan (27), Laiq Ur Rehman (23 and 4-28) also contributed to Cowling’s success, while Atif Malik (48) and Shahid Ajmal (32) did best with the bat for Ingrow.

Denholme were the latest side to find Barrowford’s wicket tricky, being dismissed for 58, with only four players in double figures, with Callum Gerrard (12) and Neil Spencer (12no) leading the way.

Adrian Shires (6-37) then took all of the home wickets to fall as the Lancastrians triumphed.

Sutton started well at home to leaders Congs, with Sam Solley (41) adding 54 for the second wicket with Stuart Tillotson (12), but then came the collapse from 56-1 to 99 all out.

Congs then knocked off the runs required without loss in 12.4 overs as Sutton are more than a maximum win behind at the bottom.

Riddlesden’s batters, like Oakworth’s against Gargrave, had to concentrate after tea when they hosted Barrowford II.

The visitors made 201-7 after winning the toss, with Aftab Khan the pick of the attack with 3-40.

Mohammad Shahnawaz (50, including eight fours) and captain Mohammed Gulnawaz (70no, including seven fours and a six) then helped the hosts to a two-wicket win off the first ball of the 40th over.

Silsden have gone second after a 41-run win at home to Airedale.

Both teams were 39-5, but Silsden’s recovery was greater thanks to opener Rob Jones (82, including 13 fours), who added 53 for the sixth wicket with Johnny Atherton (16), with Josh Coppack (3-36) and Jake Wilkinson (4-45) among the wickets.

Keeper and captain Alec Pue made 27 for Airedale, and was well supported by Paul Feather (22) and Chris Gill (38) but there was little else as Airedale were dismissed for 113 as Joshua Waind took 3-26 and Alex Nelson 4-13.

Only five points separate second and fourth, which is occupied by Glusburn, who lost by four wickets at home to Bradley.

The home side chose to bat and made 155, with keeper James Tillotson (36) and Irfan Khaliq (32) putting on 67 for the seventh wicket as Toby Meynell (3-40) and Caleb Lister (3-13) tried to keep them in check.

Impressive all-rounder Meynell then made 63 not out, putting on 72for the third wicket with Mohammed Qadeer (40) as Bradley won at the end of the 35th over.

Bradley are sixth, two points in front of Long Lee, who shocked visitors Eldwick & Gilstead.

Long Lee, sent in, made a creditable 199, with Zaffran Ghaffar (35) and Mark Day (42) putting on 75 for openers before Jamil Muhammad made 29.

E&G could not then cope with Muhammad, who took 6-20 as they were dismissed for 108, going from 10-4 to 99-5 before another shutter of wickets fell.

Cononley are only a point behind leaders Thornton-in-Craven in Division Three after easily disposing of Gargrave II.

Nathan Parker (28), Andrew Starkey (56), Tom Feather (39) and Ihsanulla Daulatzia (24) were in the runs in Cononley’s 192-9, and the home side scored 114, with Harry Parker taking 6-27 and Feather 2-23.

Oakworth II are also in the mix for promotion in third after receiving a walkover from Cowling II.

Haworth II, who are now sixth, won a low-scoring affair at Wilsden II, who were dismissed for 96 by Steve Bell (4-44) and Darren Ellerton (4-6) after winning the toss.

Tom Loynes (49no) then played a vital role as Haworth won by five wickets, aided by Paul Stephens (19no) in an unbroken stand of 55.

Denholme II had one of the most comprehensive wins of the day, racking up 270-6 at home to Long Lee II, courtesy of Ben Burkill (67), loanee Steve Powell (58), Guy Flanagan (56) and father and daughter Paul Briggs (20no) and Katie Charlton (30no).

Matt Mounsey (5-71) was the pick of the Long Lee attack, but their batters were not up to much, being dismissed for 60, with Tom Butterfield top-scoring with 12, as Burkill took 4-17 and Flanagan 2-6.

In Division Four, Airedale II and Oakworth III have swapped places after the former won by 23 runs at Airedale Oval.

Saqib Javaid hit 51 in Airedale’s 131-8, despite Ayaan Basharat taking 3-23, Sultan Khan 2-22 and Bilaal Khan 2-16.

Oakworth’s third strings could make only 108 in reply, despite 46 from Michael Thompson and 22 from Amin Khan as Javaid bagged 3-12 and Mick Feather 3-33.

Ingrow II could only make 64 against leaders Bingley Congs III at Sandy Lane, with ony Mahraj Ali (19), Adrian Weatherall (11) and No 9 Zafar Iqbal (16no) in double figures.

Congs had earlier made 113, Iqbal taking 5-22.

Glusburn II topped 300 again, making 309-8 this time against Hepworth & Idle III, with rus coming from Akram Javed (42), Rafaqat Hussain (35), Mark Pickles (84, including 12 fours and three sixes) and skipper Richard Parkin (66no, including eight fours and four sixes) as 73 runs came for the first wicket and 120 for the third.

The Westfield Laners replied with 120, collapsing from 83-3 to 89-8 as Pickles (4-40) and Alan Coney (5-38) impressed with the ball.
