LOCAL clubs are continuing to prepare for the new campaign with incomings and departures at the forefront of discussion.

One club who have been extremely busy are Albion Sports, both in relation to incomings and player retention.

The club have confirmed the arrivals of Tabish Hussain, George McMahon, Tom Ponter and Charlie Flaherty. The latter (33 years-old) has a huge amount of experience in the NCEL, playing for Eccleshill, Thackley and Albion Sports in the past and he will form part of Albion's midfield for the forthcoming campaign.

Goalkeeper McMahon is a real coup for Rizwan Mohammed's side too. The shot stopper used to play for Burnley u23s, Ashton Utd and has also represented the Rep of Ireland at u19 level.

In other news, Robbie Fox and Kam Basi have committed to the club for the upcoming campaign.

Elsewhere, Ryan Basi has returned to Thackley after spending some time at Albion Sports. Speaking to the T&A, he said: "I'm delighted to be back at Thackley because I've always had strong admiration for the work they do. I was there for five years before I made the brief move to Albion and I loved every minute of it.

"It was a tough decision to leave them (Albion) but I feel it's the right one because I now want to create my own path and decide my own destiny at this level.

"Pat (Patrick McGuire-Thackley manager) is a great man, I have a great relationship with him and he and the club are a great fit for me at this stage in my career (32)."

Basi added: "Not only that, the club are doing their very best to improve the squad this summer. They've signed some great players already and I know there will be further additions, so it's very exciting to be a part of."

Alex O’Keefe has also joined up with Thackley.

Finally, Jack Normanton has returned to Brighouse from Silsden to add more firepower to Vill Powell's attack.
