Keighley Cougars have confirmed that head coach Ian Hardman has left the club.
Hardman arrived at the start of February, after the shock departure of Alan Kilshaw to Oldham in pre-season.
Cougars were briefly overseen by interim boss Danny Burton, who stepped back into his role as assistant once Hardman was appointed.
But it was a difficult season for Keighley under Hardman, and at one point they lost 11 games on the bounce, before victories in their last two games against North Wales and Halifax.
Confirming Hardman’s departure, by mutual agreement, Cougars said: “The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Ian for his hard work and commitment during his time as head coach.
“Everyone at Keighley Cougars would like to wish him and his family the very best for the future and every success in his next endeavours.
“Ian took on the role in a challenging time.
“Faced with a raft of injuries, Ian worked tirelessly to improve performances, which culminated with a fantastic win against Halifax.
“With Ian’s departure confirmed for the end of the season, Keighley Cougars have now begun the process of appointing a new head coach to lead the club into its next chapter.
“The club welcomes expressions of interest from ambitious and experienced coaches who believe they have the ability, leadership and vision to take Keighley Cougars forward.
“Anyone interested in discussing the Head Coach position is invited to contact Kaue Garcia via email kaue@cougarmania.co.uk.
“Further announcements regarding the club’s coaching structure and plans for the future will be made in due course.”
