A stock car driving legend from the district has been widely praised for his "storming drive" in his sport's showpiece World Final.
Frankie Wainman Junior started near the back of the grid, but rose through the field to clinch an unlikely podium finish in the 2026 BriSCA F1 Stock Car World Championship at Northampton Shaleway.
The highly-successful driver, from Silsden, had started the race on Row 15 of the grid, but overtook a succession of rivals to finish in third place on Saturday night.
Fans of Wainman, who drives car number 515, have been quick to praise his performance as he overhauled more than 25 rivals during the race.
Chris Scott said: "Well done Frankie, absolutely storming drive from the back. You are a legend mate!!"
Another fan, Grant Gilly Mcgill, said: "Some drive from there. Well done Frankie."
Karl Gilbert said: "When it comes to a world final Frank always turns it up a notch. Well deserved result."
Frankie Wainman Junior has been World Champion on three previous occasions - 1998, 2005, 2016.
The 2026 title was won by by Kyle Gray in car 124 after the hotly-tipped Tom Harris - looking to make history by becoming the first driver to win four consecutive World Championships - was put into the fence early in the race, then spun on the restart - possibly due to damage suffered in the earlier incident.
