A NUMBER of local sides are set to kick-off their annual pre-season schedule today, with a whole host of friendly matches set to be played.

Teams such as Albion Sports, Campion, and Eccleshill United have already played their first fixtures, however they will all return to action today.

Albion Sports are at home again today, as they suffered a 4-2 defeat against new Step 6 side Ilkley Town last time out.

They take on a strong Yorkshire Amateur outfit at 3:00 PM, the side who were beaten by Eccleshill United 3-1 on Wednesday.

The latter return to action and face a trip to Ilkley, in what proves to be an exciting fixture.

Two great footballing sides will go head-to-head, and Simon Armstrong's side will welcome fans back, as they play their first home match as a semi-professional club.

Kick-off is at 3:00 PM in this one.

Campion were set to travel to Knaresborough Town for a 3:00 PM kick-off, but that game has now been postponed.

The Red and Blacks were looking to bounce back from their opening 3-0 friendly defeat to Armthorpe Welfare.

Silsden are set to return to the fold today, as they host Prestwich Heys in a 3:00 PM kick-off, while another two local sides face off with each other.

Thackley host Brighouse Town, in what could be an entertaining game.

The kick-off in that one is at the slightly earlier time of 1:00 PM.

In other news, North West Counties new-boys Ilkley Town, have landed a dream money-spinning Division One North home game with phoenix club Bury AFC for their first ever Non-League fixture.

Campion AFC’s first game in the NWCFL is a roses derby as they travel to face Garstang, with the Yorkshire clubs following game being at home against neighbours, Golcar United the following Tuesday.

And Steeton's opener on 3rd Aug is away against Nelson FC

Their first home game is against the league's newcomers on August 7th, South Liverpool.
