MANY Bradford sides made their pre-season bows over the weekend, while the most eye-catching result came in a West Yorkshire derby.
Ilkley Town are making their debut in the non-league pyramid this season, and hosting Eccleshill United on Saturday, they showed they more than belong at this level.
Lee Elam's Eagles roared into a 3-0 lead at the break, but a stunning Ilkley comeback saw them score three times in eight second-half minutes to level the scores at 3-3.
But Eccleshill bagged a late winner to come out on the right side of a seven-goal thriller.
Thackley also played their part in an exciting clash, coming away with a 2-2 draw from their home friendly with Brighouse.
Brighouse's goals came courtesy of Zeph Thomas and Laurence Sorhaindo.
Silsden went ahead courtesy of Craig Billington in their friendly at home to Prestwich Heys, but they eventually went down to two late goals.
