Keighley Albion U-18s 30 Lambwath U-18s 22
BOBBY Darbyshire steered Albion to victory as he scored an impressive hat-trick against Lambwath Lions.
Albion got off to a perfect start as the ball fell nicely into winger Josh Tenniswood’s arms from a tackle. He gladly sprinted in to touch down under the posts.
However, Albion then gifted Lambwath possession 20 metres out from the try line and they hit back with a converted try to level matters.
Darbyshire scored his first after great support play saw him take the pass and out-sprint the cover to touch down.
Lambwath hit back with two tries and a goal to put themselves 16-12 ahead at the break and they increased that lead to 22-12 with 20 minutes remaining.
Darbyshire soon cut the deficit after he broke through from halfway to go in under the posts. A Harry Normington goal took it to 22-18.
Albion pushed hard for the win and with two minutes remaining, Tenniswood went in at the left corner to level at 22-22. Finlay Meegan nailed a tricky conversion to put his side ahead.
Their resolve crushed, Lambwath folded and allowed Darbyshire to run in his hat-trick try. Normington added the extras to ensure a 30-22 win, pushing the side up to third.
