Our aims are to relieve the suffering of cats who are in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide or maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception and care of such unwanted animals and their treatment. Haworth Cat Rescue was founded on 1 February 1992 in response to the urgent local need to provide a safe haven for the many abandoned and neglected cats and kittens in the area. In 1997 we acquired registered charity status as Haworth Animal Welfare (Cat Rescue) and the following year earned the accolade of Best Cat Rescue in Britain awarded by the Friskies Petcare Foundation. We changed our name to Yorkshire Cat Rescue in 2013 to reflect the increased area we cover. Over the years our reputation for excellence and standards of cat care has steadily grown – and our cat and kitten pens are constructed in line with the high standards set by International Cat Care (formerly The Feline Advisory Bureau). Today the charity serves a wide area stretching beyond its immediate environs of Haworth and Keighley to Halifax, Bradford, Hebden Bridge, Skipton and Craven and beyond. The plight of unwanted, stray, feral and abandoned cats in West Yorkshire continues unabated and we work tirelessly to improve their lot. Yorkshire Cat Rescue is a member of The Fundraising Standards Board Donations are the main source of income for our charity and without donations our long term future would be in jeopardy. If you do make a donation to Yorkshire Cat Rescue, we greatly appreciate it, thank you!
