MANY people speak about the unfair share of funding that Yorkshire receives from Westminster and that Yorkshire should be empowered with a Parliament for Yorkshire.

The precise practical realities of a Parliament would be an additional layer of establishment politicians who will differ from those currently residing at taxpayer expense in Westminster by the possession of a Yorkshire accent.

Yorkshire deserves better funding and English Democrats favour an English Parliament that would be a smaller size Parliament than the current number of MPs that occupy the House of Commons.

That Parliament would take possession of all English tax revenues and would commence the implementation of a nationwide economic stimulus for families and individuals.

Council tax discount doubled from 25 per cent to 50 per cent will reduce average council tax bills by £600. The pensioner living in Yorkshire will benefit more from a council tax reduction of 50 per cent than the gimmicks afforded them by the establishment parties which have run Yorkshire into the ground.

School meal charges will be eliminated for every household with children in Yorkshire – for a family with three children attending state education that would be a saving of over £1,000 a year that will help Yorkshiremen and Yorkshirewomen a great deal.

Yorkshire folk have tired of the establishment robbing them blind with tax rises and public service charges that penalise them and their families. It is time to slash the cost of living starting with council tax and school meal charges.

English Democrats believe in reducing the burden of council on low and middle-income families and individuals because household bills should be cut, starting with council tax.
