This Xbox 360 game is not for the faint-hearted as it’s a true gore fest as you try to dispatch hordes of Zombies by what every means necessary.
Billed as a spin-off rather than a sequel means the developers can bring back characters from the first title, and introduce an Australian guy who specialises in hand-to-hand combat.
Riptide is basically the same as the first game but in a different location. It does feel like it has missed a trick in not really moving the game forward but fans of the first will still enjoy this title.
If you haven’t played the first title this doesn’t matter, but maybe you should seek out the first Dead Island game out of the bargain bucket and leave this on the shelf till it replaces the first in the bucket itself.
