STEETON Male Voice Choir is preparing for a Sunday afternoon concert in a nightclub.

The singers will perform at the Pennington’s Octagon Live club in Sandbeds on November 30 at 2.30pm.

The men will be joined by Bingley ladies choir Opus 44, who they competed with last year at the Choir Rock concert in Leeds.

The Steeton choir will perform at end of year concert at All Saints Church, Bingley, on December 13 at 7.30pm. The programme will include carols with the audience, and songs that were favourites with choir and audiences during 2014.

Admission to either concert is £8. Visit tickets@steetonmvc.co.uk or call 01274 598221 to book tickets.

The choir was last week booked to perform a concert in Skipton to raise money for the town’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Choir members are no strangers to Remembrance performances, and on their last tour of Belgium and Germany sang during the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate.

The Steeton choir’s current repertoire includes a medley of First World War songs, and as a tribute to soldiers who fell during the war, Only Remembered from the film War Horse.

Concerts planned for 2015: Selby Abbey, March 14; Halifax United Reformed Church, March 28; Ripley Hotel DeVille, may nine; St Andrew’s Church, Skipton, July 4; Ulverston Methodist Church, July 18; King’s Hall, Ilkley, October 10.
