A SECOND former member of My Chemical Romance is touring in the North of England.
Frank Iero follows in the footsteps of the now-defunct American rock band’s singer Gerard Way.
Frank is performing his first UK headline tour under the name Frnkiero and the Cellabration throughout April.
His music has been described as scrappy, idiosyncratic and infectious as hell, served up with a raw punk edge that can strip skin at 50 paces.
He finished 2014 on a high, recording a BBC Radio 1 session for Daniel P Carter, playing his first-ever headline show in London at a sold-out Barfly in Camden, and performing to two packed ‘in-store’ crowds at Kingston’s Banquet Records in one day.
Frank last year released his debut solo record, Stomachaches, to fantastic reviews in the UK rock press, along with the videos for the singles Joyriding and Weighted.
He said: “When making Stomachaches I really wanted you to feel like you were listening in on the songs as opposed to listening to them.”
Frank Iero will play the Deaf Institute in Manchester on April 16 and the Key Club in Leeds on April 17.
