NEW DANCE show 6 Feet, 3 Shoes will be at Kala Sangam before it heads to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Slanjayvah Danza will combine Flamenco, Scottish and contemporary dance for the performance at the Bradford arts centre on Friday July 19 at 7.30pm.

Created by Leeds based choreographer and dancer Jen Wren, this heartwarming show blends dance, storytelling and foot-stomping rhythms to celebrate friendship across borders.

It features an international cast of all-female dancers, accompanied by musicians playing live guitar and fiddle, to bring to life the story of how three people communicated without words to build a friendship and home-away-from-home.

Jen Wren, artistic director of Slanjayvah Danza, said: “I am really excited to be presenting 6 Feet, 3 Shoes at Kala Sangam. I’ve been living in Yorkshire for 19 years now.

“The show started as my story of coming to Leeds as a young woman to study dance, and its grown to become a story about the people I met then and am still close to now.

“It’s about how our cultures, brought together, have influenced our lives and changed us, how we have remained friends and the ups and downs of our lives whilst both together and apart geographically.
