Jane Austen meets Blackadder in a spoof costume drama staged next month by Harden Players.
Pride and Perfidy promises to bring love, treachery, seduction and murder to the village's Congregational Church.
Fifteen members will perform the Regency romp penned by the group's resident playwright Amanda Petyt.
Amanda, who previously wrote to pantomimes for the Players, wanted to ensure everyone could have a part.
Pride andPerfidy is a story of thwarted love and attempted murder which culminates in a fierce duel.
It is loosely based on Austen's Pride and Prejudice, which currently features in TV time-slip drama Lost in Austen.
Expect gags, wit, slapstick and music on October 3 & 4 and 10 & 11, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 from Harden Post Office.
