Meerkat Manor - The Story Begins Narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, this tale of meerkats surviving in the Kalahari desert has a lyrical, child friendly quality to it that is captivating.
As narrator, Goldberg makes the story entertaining, quirky and dramatic, while the meerkat family - the Whiskers - are suitably adorable and compelling.
The film is a prelude to the TV series of the same name, depicting the birth of TV series’ star, the meerkat Flower, while utilising some gorgeous cinematography in the process.
But have you missed the TV series? Being a prelude, it doesn’t really matter, although the story is made more poignant if you’re already familiar with the meerkat heroine.
The only complaint here: the film is too short! More meerkats, please!
