Glusburn-born screenwriter Simon Beaufoy is penning a true story about a man who cut off his own arm.

The latest movie portrays a Ralston's struggle for survival over five days six years ago while climbing in Utah.
Ralston trapped his arm under a dislodged boulder and, believing he would die, recorded a last video message from his family.
He snapped the bones in his arm and amputated it with the blade and pliers in his multi-tool, then abseiled off a 70-foot ledge.
He was then found by a family and airlifted to hospital.
