It’s the time of the year for big football games and the annual Pro Evo verses Fifa debate kicks off quite literally.
I have always leaned towards the Pro Evo series until last year when Fifa had the edge but having played both titles there are now on a level playing field more than ever before.
Noticeable changes to Pro Evo on the PS3 include new game modes -- I really like the Online Master League and Become a Legend mode which is also an online feature.
The gameplay has been tweaked and this will be very noticeable to fans of the series, the game runs slightly slower but this makes it more challenging and it still retains its fluid gameplay. Passing is harder which helps to add longevity as a steeper learning is encountered.
The misses with this year’s game? There are still a lot of unlicensed teams, weak commentary and it was DS way too easy to foul opponents.
Whereas Pro Evo has improved since last year it seems Fifa 11 -- my version was on the Xbox 360 -- has done little in offering noticeable changes apart from a bit of tidying the rough edges.
But last year's game was so good you can understand not wanting to fix something that’s not broken. Should we gamers demand more? Although I love Pro Evo I’m still glad Fifa 11 is part of my collection.
