An enthralled audience filled West Lane Baptist Church almost to capacity on Saturday to hear the 16 ladies of the Cobbydale Singers from Silsden accompanied by John Taylor in concert with their special guests, Alison Fuller, contralto and David Gee tenor with David Root at the piano. This was village musical entertainment at its very best, with sterling performances from everybody involved, as evidenced by the enthusiastic applause.

The choir and soloists performed very well chosen programmes of varied genres of music, covering classical opera, musicals, Gilbert and Sullivan, humour to jazz with such panache as to keep the audience riveted to attention.

How the Cobbydale Singers remain so focused and together without a conductor is a miracle! Jens Hislop
