The frontman with legendary Welsh band The Alarm stands atop the pile of rock this autumn in Keighley.

Mike Peters is just one of a host of rock, folk and other music acts appearing at venues in the town.

Mike’s performance at the Gassienda (aka the New Variety Club) in Russell Street, Keighley, is on October 19.

This will be his third appearance in three years to perform an acoustic set of Alarm songs and his more recent material.

Tickets cost £10 from Keighley Musicians Centre in Russell Street or the Copy Shop in High Street. For details call 07792 164481.

Soundfire Promotions, formed recently by Keighley man Cameron Elsworth, is hosting a Halloween Special on October 13.

Headlining will be female-fronted Talking To Strangers, with math rock quartet NGOD and post-hardcore four-piece Amestis.

Tickets for the show at Pennington’s Octagon on Bradford Road, Sandbeds, cost £5 on the door.

The Octagon is also hosting regular slots in Fridays and Saturdays devoted to specific musical genres, combining live bands and discos.

Rock 'n' roll and jive is the first Saturday of every month, 70s and 80s is the second Saturday, and rock and pop party nights are the third Saturday. The third Friday boasts line dancing and the fourth Friday is given over to Tamla and soul.

Comedy-and-curry nights are held on the first Friday of each month, including Ian "Sludge" Lees tomorrow and Bradford Alhambra panto star Billy Pearce with his adult show on November 2.

Coming up at the Octagon are rock 'n' roll band The Jets (November 3), Eurythmics tribute Neurythmics (October 13), tribute band Us4//U2 (November 17) and the Jake & Elwood Blues Brothers Show (November 23).
