Events are taking place this Sunday marking the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation.
Harden Parish Council is unveiling a diamond jubilee plaque and commemorative oak tree near the Harden Road bus shelter.
The unveiling will be carried out at 12.30pm by Baroness Margaret Eaton, and will be preceded, at 11.15am, by a special service at St Saviour’s Church.
Refreshments will be served in the church family room afterwards.
The refurbished coronation shelter in Gill Lane, Cowling, will also be officially reopened on Sunday.
The shelter was built by the late Gerald Hall and Squire Jackson, who both worked for local builders Sam Gott and Sons.
The ceremony – which will take place at noon – will be performed by Betty Bestall, daughter of Gerald, watched by Maurice Jackson, son of Squire. Refurbishment work has been carried out by local contractor Chris Cowgill.
