Motorists caught speeding while travelling from Cross Roads to Haworth will be issued with warning letters after they were detected by a Police and Community Support Officer.

The PCSO carried out an hour-long speed-watch operation in the Mill Hey area last Wednesday, monitoring more than 120 passing vehicles.

A police spokesman said: “Seven of these vehicles were caught travelling in excess of the 30mph limit, the highest being 40mph.

“On the same date, from 12.15pm to 1pm, another speed watch was carried out in Hebden Road, on the stretch between Cross Roads and Brow.

“More than 80 vehicles were checked and only one vehicle was caught breaking the speed limit. This driver will also receive a warning.”
