Keighley-district tourist attractions have reported a mixed year in 2013.
The Bronte Parsonage Museum at Haworth welcomed nearly 75,000 visitors, up slightly on the previous year.
General admissions totalled 69,142, while education groups accounted for 5,743.
Museum bosses said they were happy with the figures.
Collections manager Ann Dinsdale said: “When you consider the adverse weather we experienced in the early part of the year, the numbers are quite good.
“The figure for school visitors is almost identical to that for the previous year.”
At East Riddlesden Hall, the overall number of admissions fell – from 36,568 in 2012 to 34,279.
The figure for paying visitors increased but did little to offset a 16 per cent drop in the number of National Trust visitors. Bosses said poor weather had a major impact on the total, although work with community groups – such as staging a summer fun day and fairs – helped bring in more local people.
Carla Weatherall, visitor-experience manager at the site, said: “It’s been great to see the number of paying visitors go up as that means we are attracting more local people to the property and this is something we’ve tried hard to do over the last few years.
“However we’re disappointed with the overall result, especially as we had seen visitor numbers increase year-on-year previously.”
But she added: “We are a spirited bunch and won’t let ourselves get too disheartened by this as we enter a new season.
“We have plans in place which will hopefully make our property appealing for visitors in 2014 and with extra publicity locally and regionally we should have a better year.”
