Cash seized from criminals across West Yorkshire will be put into one charity pot.
The Police and Crime Comm-issioner believes this will make it easier for community groups to access the money. Mark Burns-Williamson launched the Safer Communities Fund last week.
Money seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act will be fed into the fund exclusively for community safety initiatives.
Details of how groups can apply for up to £10,000 are available from west yorkshire-pcc.gov.uk.
Half of the money currently seized from West Yorkshire criminals currently goes to the Government.
Mr Burns-Williamson is campaigning for all the cash to remain in the county, and asks people to sign up to a petition on the website.
