Manorlands is urging people who missed out on a ballot place in the Great North Run to take part with the Sue Ryder team.

The charity has a number of guaranteed slots available in the world-famous half-marathon on September 7.

Manorlands’ Keighley fundraiser, Andrew Wood, said: “The Great North Run is a hugely popular event with both beginners and experienced runners, and places are becoming increasingly hard to gain. We are proud to be a Gold Status charity for the event, which enables us to offer a number of places for the race. In 2012, Sue Ryder had an amazing 144 people take part in the Great North Run, collectively raising £48,000.”

He added: “This is the perfect opportunity to take part in the run and raise funds for Manorlands at the same time.

“We’d love to hear from any Keighley runners interested in pulling on a Sue Ryder running vest and joining our fantastic team.”
