Planning officers recommended an application to turn a private industrial unit in Stockbridge into a commercial garage should be rejected.
The change of use proposals, which were due to be debated by Keighley & Shipley Area Planning Panel yesterday, relate to a property on land east of 50 Dalton Terrace.
Two representations in favour of the plans have been submitted. The applicant has said the business will not operate at weekends, and there will be no changes to current parking arrangements.
However, council officers have argued if the plans are approved, they will result in an “unacceptable” increase in the volume of traffic using Sussex Street and its junction with Bradford Road.
They also warn the proposed use will lead to increased noise and other disturbance for residents in nearby houses.
