World Fairtrade Day will be celebrated in Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre next month.
Members of the town’s Fair-trade group discussed plans for the event at their latest meeting.
Ethically-sourced products will be on display in the shopping centre from 10am to 3pm on May 10.
Fairtrade Keighley chairman, Richard Dillon, said: “It’s about helping producers in the developing world get a fair return for their labours, which they can then invest back into their own communities.
“On the day itself, in the Airedale Shopping Centre, we’ll have a market selling Fairtrade produce and hopefully also some local artists and face painting.”
Mr Dillon and his colleagues are keen to get a range of community organisations involved in the Fairtrade movement, and are reaching out to churches, schools, businesses and Keighley’s Emily Street Mosque.
