Cowling Parish Council approved a request for more funding to provide commemorative First World War plaques for the village.
Councillor Joan Tindale said £200 had been allocated to purchase plaques and associated materials to commemorate 100 years since the start of the conflict.
She added the request for additional funding will ensure money is available to pay for the artwork and materials required to list the names of villagers who served in the war.
Councillors agreed to allocate a further £200 from reserves for the project.
